BAR AND LOUNGE

The owners desired to expand from their fine dining and catering restaurant, and acquired the adjacent existing space to serve as a bar and lounge. The serving bar was designed to straddle both restaurant and lounge, clearly divide function between staff and guests while facilitating interaction among them, and allow staff to seamlessly work between kitchen and bar. The bartop is constructed with two layers of frosted glass and is lit from underneath; the shelves that contain liquors behind the bar were given similar treatment. At the owner’s request, a pocketed door was installed within the accent wall between restaurant and lounge to completely separate the two spaces if desired.
